1. I’VE NEVER HAD ACUPUNCTURE. DOES IT HURT?
It depends on the location that is needled, sensitivity of the person, and style of the acupuncturist. However, most people say they barely feel it. At Acupuncture Kokoro, we use a Japanese style, which is a very gentle and shallow insertion with no aggressive manipulation of the needles. The needles we use are very thin (about the same size as a strand of hair) and most people fall asleep during the session.
2. WHAT CAN ACUPUNCTURE TREAT?
It focuses on strengthening the body's natural healing abilities in order for a person to heal themselves. It treats a wide range of ailments. For details, click here.
3. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I RECEIVE ACUPUNCTURE?
It depends on your conditions. Some conditions require only one session. Some require sessions that last 1, 3, or 6 months. Conditions that are chronic tend to take a longer time, thus more sessions. Your conditions and a treatment plan will be discussed at your first consultation. If you have any requests or concerns about the number of sessions, we can discuss then to come up with the best treatment plan for you.
